Designed with approachable strategy in mind

I recently had the honour of creating a logo for a bright new communications and PR agency located in the heart of Montreal’s Mile End district in newly opened Espace Mile End coworking space.

The Founder of Marelle Communications is Marilyne Levesque, a former journalist, radio and TV personality as well as seasoned communication and PR professional. Marilyne’s agency offers a wide range of services including public relations, strategic consulting, social media support as well as event planning services.

Admittedly, this is not a typical Maker Flair Labs client. However, I believe that artistry comes in many forms and Marilyne’s dedication to the arts and culture scene in Montreal plays well with MFL’s values and business philosophy.

Let’s talk about the brief

The brief was to create the Marelle Communications logo. Although based on a children’s game, marelle is the French name for the game of hopscotch, the logo should not be childish. It required the correct touch of playfulness and needed to avoid any grammar school styling or any schoolyard clichés.

The logo should also reflect Marilyne’s solid and professional background, her engagement and commitment which is rooted in offering top-notch services, and finally to generate a sense of strategic dynamism. I was up for the challenge and I am super proud of the end result and so is Marilyne which is what counts!

It was a genuine pleasure designing this logo and I hope to see it all over Montreal’s PR scene.

I wish her all the best for the future and hope to stay in touch with Marilyne for many years to come.

Bravo ma chère! Go get ’em!
